Hosted by Women's Tech Hub

Workshop Wednesdays is a welcoming tech study, career support and networking evening at DeskLodge House in Bristol on 14 October 2026. Hosted by Women’s Tech Hub, this recurring fortnightly meetup gives women in tech and their allies a safe, supportive place to learn, meet people and work through career questions. The session runs from 6:00pm to 8:30pm BST at DeskLodge House, 2 Redcliffe Way. What to expect The evening has a flexible, informal format rather than a fixed programme. You can use the time to study, work on your own project, discuss your career or simply connect with others interested in technology. Other tutorials may also run during the session, with opportunities to receive career guidance and introductions to additional supportive networks. Workshop Wednesdays also brings together members of the Python Dojo and Bristol Data Science and Machine Learning groups at the same event. That mix makes the meetup useful whether you want to practise technical skills, explore Python, meet people working with data and machine learning, or find peers who understand the realities of building a career in the industry. You can come along to: - Study independently in a supportive environment - Work on a technical or personal project - Meet people interested in Python, data science and machine learning - Ask questions about entering or returning to the tech industry - Discuss staying in the sector, progressing at work or changing direction - Get career guidance and discover other support networks - Network informally over light snacks and drinks Who is it for? All experience levels are welcome. You do not need to be established in a technical role or arrive with a particular project. The event is suitable for people considering a first career in tech, those trying to move up or return after time away, experienced practitioners looking for community, and anyone who would benefit from a welcoming place to learn. Women’s Tech Hub also welcomes male allies. New members are encouraged to attend, and there is no pressure to stay for the full two-and-a-half hours: if your schedule is tight, you can simply drop in, meet the group and say hello.
