Online
Hosted by STRANGER BUILDS 🎃
Stranger Builds is an online Halloween AI and software hackathon where builders have seven days to ship a product, attract early users and compete for prizes. The sprint begins Saturday 31 October 2026, from 5pm to 1am UTC, with participants able to take part online from anywhere. After the opening day, teams and solo builders continue working online for seven days, with a practical goal: bring something unusual to life and get real people using it. What to expect - An online build sprint focused on shipping rather than simply presenting an idea - US$10,000 in cash prizes and credits - Opportunities to meet other AI and software builders - Sponsor-backed technology from Base44, Fetch.ai, Vonage and Shelled AI - A global community assembled by NERDCONF, which runs hackathons for a network of more than 25,000 builders The event is aimed at people building AI agents, apps and other software, although the organisers have not specified a required experience level. Challenges and judges are still to be announced. This is the virtual edition of a wider Halloween hackathon that also has opening-day gatherings in San Francisco and Melbourne. Registration requires host approval, so submitting a request does not guarantee entry. Request to join Stranger Builds
