Online
Hosted by LFDT Thailand
On 6 October 2026, this online LFDT Thailand meetup launches a working group focused on AI, open-source development and decentralised trust. AI is already writing patches, reviewing pull requests and helping newcomers understand unfamiliar repositories. Meanwhile, autonomous agents increasingly need verifiable identities, trusted credentials and ways to pay one another. This kickoff explores both sides of that relationship, and asks where Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust (LFDT) projects should lead. What the group will explore Rather than presenting a finished policy, LFDT Thailand is convening maintainers, contributors and the wider Linux Foundation community to define the new LFDT AI Working Group’s scope. Discussion will centre on three questions: - How should LFDT projects use AI? Participants will consider disclosure requirements, provenance, licensing, Developer Certificate of Origin sign-off and security review. Existing Linux Foundation guidance on generative AI will provide a baseline, with the group examining what additional practices LFDT projects need. - Can AI strengthen open-source communities? The meetup will assess tools such as CodeRabbit review bots, automated triage for “good first issues” and onboarding assistants. Expect a practical conversation about whether these systems shorten the journey from first contribution to committer, or simply create more work for maintainers, as well as who should operate and fund them. - Where does decentralised trust meet agentic AI? The session will examine connections with the Agentic AI Foundation, including MCP, goose and AGENTS.md, and the x402 Foundation’s work on payments over HTTP for agents. Agent identity, verifiable credentials and agent-to-agent commerce are key areas where distributed ledger technology could contribute. A working session, not a keynote This is a participatory online network event. Attendees are encouraged to bring opinions, objections and real problems from their projects. The intended outcomes are an initial working-group scope, a future meeting cadence and named volunteers for the first work streams.… Register for this event
