Leeds · The Helix, Leeds University Union
Hosted by Leeds University Union - Artificial Intelligence Society (LUU Engage)
Build your first AI agent at this hands-on workshop hosted by Leeds University Union's Artificial Intelligence Society on 29 April 2026. Whether you're a student, staff member, experienced developer, curious founder, or completely new to coding, this evening session at The Helix offers a practical introduction to shipping real AI-powered applications using industry-leading tools. What You'll Build This event is part of Zero to Agent, a global build week running from 24 April to 3 May where participants create functional AI agents using v0 and Vercel. You'll receive $30 in v0 credits at the event to power your build, giving you hands-on experience with the same tools used by professional developers worldwide. Three Competition Tracks Choose your challenge based on your interests and experience level: - Vercel Workflow: Build automated AI workflows that solve real problems - v0 + MCPs: Create agents using Model Context Protocols for enhanced AI capabilities - ChatSDK Agents: Develop conversational AI agents with chat interfaces Why Attend This isn't just a learning session—it's a competitive build event with $6,000+ in global prizes up for grabs. Every project built during the workshop can be submitted to the worldwide competition hosted by the Vercel Community. The submission window runs until 3 May, giving you time to refine your agent after the initial build session. Beyond the prizes, you'll connect with Leeds' growing AI community, meet fellow builders across experience levels, and get hands-on support while working on your project. The four-hour format provides ample time to move from concept to working prototype, with community energy to keep you motivated throughout. Who Should Come This event welcomes everyone—no coding experience required. The tools provided are designed to make AI development accessible, while still offering depth for more technical participants. Whether you're exploring AI for the first time or you're a seasoned developer looking to ship something new, you'll find value in this collaborative build session. The event runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, giving you an entire evening to build, learn, and potentially create something competition-worthy. All materials, credits, and guidance will be provided on-site. [Register for this eve
