Mexico City
Hosted by Claude Community Events
Transform your city's open data into real-world solutions at Mexico City's first Claude Impact Lab — a full-day collaborative build event where teams create functional apps and AI agents using government datasets. Unlike traditional hackathons, Impact Labs focus on building something genuinely useful for the community, not competing for prizes. What You'll Build Teams will spend 5-6 hours building with Claude Code using 114+ public datasets from datos.cdmx.gob.mx, published by CDMX's Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP). Every dataset is downloadable as CSV and covers transport, security, air quality, budget, public services, and more. Challenge Tracks 🚇 Smart Mobility — Help 6M+ daily users navigate the city better using data from Metro, Metrobús, Ecobici, RTP, Cablebús, light rail, and GTFS routes. 🔒 Neighbourhood Safety — Build tools helping residents understand safety in their colonia using crime investigation files, victim records, and traffic incident data. 📋 Service Scorecard — Make government responsiveness measurable using 311 Locatel requests, response times, and resolution rates by borough. 💰 Follow the Money — Transform city budget data into something everyone can understand, using public debt, budget transparency, and supplier registry information. 🌬️ Breathe CDMX — Help residents make informed decisions about air quality using pollution readings (PM2.5, ozone, NO2, CO), mortality data, and health atlas information. 🛠️ Open Challenge — Build whatever you want with any dataset from the portal — urban development, cycling infrastructure, permits, civic photography, you decide. Event Format Arrive solo or with your team (ideal mix: technical + product profiles), choose a challenge track or propose your own, build for 5-6 hours with on-site mentors, then present what you've created. The best projects receive recognition and prizes. This isn't about competition — it's about building functional solutions alongside people you've just met. The first Impact Lab took place in San Diego in March 2026, where 27 teams built real applications using city open data — from business location evaluation tools to water quality tracking systems. All in one day. Now it's Mexico City's turn. What's Included Free entry with meals and coffee throughout the day, on-site mentors to support your bui
