Blush has redesigned its top navigation to unify search and AI-powered image generation into a single interface. The update, announced on LinkedIn, allows designers to search for existing illustrations and generate custom graphics from the same location, eliminating the need to switch between separate tools or pages.
The change reflects a broader shift in design asset platforms toward hybrid workflows that blend curation with creation. Instead of choosing between browsing pre-made illustrations or prompting an AI generator, users can now do both from the same entry point.
Faster Asset Workflows
The redesigned navigation consolidates two previously separate actions into one persistent interface. Users can type a search query to browse Blush's library of customizable illustrations from artists worldwide, or they can immediately pivot to generating a new image from scratch without navigating away. The company describes the update as making both actions "faster from the same spot."
For designers working on tight deadlines or iterating rapidly, the streamlined flow reduces friction. A user searching for "office worker" illustrations can quickly assess available options, then generate a custom variation if nothing fits, without losing context or starting over in a different part of the interface.
The update follows several recent additions to Blush's platform, including one-click video export for 3D and illustration assets and enhanced visual controls in Reframe 2.0.
Why It Matters
Design tools increasingly face pressure to reduce cognitive overhead. Separate search and generation interfaces force users to decide upfront whether to browse or create, often leading to wasted time when the chosen path doesn't deliver. By merging these functions, Blush removes that decision point.
The approach mirrors patterns seen in other creative software. Figma and Canva have similarly collapsed multiple creation modes into unified entry points, recognizing that creative workflows are rarely linear.
Blush's parent company Lummipics has been iterating on the platform's AI capabilities over the past year, adding features like style filters and AI-assisted portfolio reviews. The navigation update suggests the company is moving beyond bolting AI onto existing tools and instead rethinking how search and generation complement each other.
The redesigned navigation is live now on the Blush website. The company has not announced whether the update includes changes to its API or plugin integrations with design tools like Figma and Framer.
