What to expect

Learn how production AI agents differ from ordinary chatbots in this live online architecture session on 22 August 2026 at 7:00 PM.

Hosted by the Global Institute of Artificial Intelligence – Melbourne, this practical 60-minute session examines what turns a scripted conversational interface into an agent that can plan, use tools, retain context and complete multi-step work reliably.

The session is led by Sandeep Bhalekar, founder of the Global Institute of Artificial Intelligence and co-author of The Blueprint for AI Adoption and Societal Transformation (Routledge, 2026). Rather than relying on buzzwords or slide-heavy theory, he will walk through how real agent architecture works, where its core components fit and why agentic systems can break once deployed.

What you’ll learn

  • Agent vs chatbot: the architectural difference between a scripted response loop and a system built around planning, memory and autonomous tool use.
  • The modern agent stack: where LangGraph, CrewAI and AutoGen can each earn a place in a working system.
  • Agentic RAG: how agents ground decisions and actions in real data instead of hallucinating their next step.
  • AgentOps and reliability: approaches to tracing and evaluating agent behaviour so failures do not go unnoticed in production.
  • Multi-agent systems: how specialised agents can collaborate on a task rather than forcing one agent to handle every responsibility.
  • Practical guardrails: human-in-the-loop checkpoints that preserve oversight without removing useful autonomy.

Who should attend?

This session is designed for developers, data and machine-learning professionals, product practitioners and technical founders who have moved beyond introductory definitions of AI agents. It will be most useful if you want to understand how an agent is actually assembled, how its components interact and where reliability problems emerge.
