About this event

What to expect

Singapore-India Hackathon 2026 brings college students together in Singapore for three days of cross-border problem-solving in AI, sustainability and fintech.

Taking place 15–17 November 2026 at SMU’s campus in Singapore, this free, in-person hackathon is the fourth edition of a bilateral initiative connecting Singapore and India. It is designed to deepen collaboration between the two countries’ academic, innovation and start-up ecosystems while giving students a platform to develop ideas around consequential technical and societal challenges.

What to expect

The event centres on three key innovation sectors:

  • Artificial intelligence , exploring how AI can support new products, services and approaches to problem-solving
  • Sustainability , developing ideas that respond to environmental and long-term social needs
  • Fintech , investigating innovation across financial technology and related services

Rather than a conventional conference, this is a multi-day hackathon focused on active participation. Attendees can expect an intensive environment built around innovation, technical thinking and cross-border collaboration. Its distinctive Singapore–India format creates an opportunity for students to engage with perspectives from two fast-growing technology and start-up ecosystems.

Who can apply?

Participation is open to college students. The event page does not specify required subjects, technical experience, team arrangements or judging criteria, so applicants should consult the application materials for the latest participation requirements. Applications are currently open, and entry is free.

This event will be particularly relevant to students interested in AI, fintech, sustainability, entrepreneurship, start-ups and practical innovation. It may also appeal to participants looking to apply their academic knowledge in a collaborative setting and gain experience tackling open-ended challenges beyond the classroom.
