About this event

What to expect

HackSheffield11 is a 24-hour student hackathon for building ideas, learning practical skills and meeting fellow makers in Sheffield.

Hosted by the Computer Science Society at The University of Sheffield, the event runs 28–29 November 2026 at The Diamond. It welcomes students of all skill levels, including first-time hackathon participants, and promises a fun, inclusive environment in which teams can turn ideas into working projects.

The full weekend timetable is still being developed. Organisers say it will cover:

  • Talks and workshops
  • Team project-building time
  • Meals
  • Project judging

Last year’s event brought together 127 hackers, who created 40 projects. Alongside the core build, photos from the previous edition show sponsor meet-and-greets, competitions and informal activities. HackSheffield11 is supported by gold sponsor Reply and partners Hackathons UK and Major League Hacking.

Team registration is available now. Questions about teams, accessibility, dietary requirements or travel reimbursement can be sent to hackathon@sheffield.ac.uk, although detailed answers have not yet been published on the event page.
