What to expect

Daytona AI Builders is an in-person AI engineering meetup in San Francisco on 29 September 2026, combining technical talks with networking.

Hosted by Daytona from 5:30pm to 8:00pm PDT, the event focuses on the infrastructure and engineering practices behind capable, long-running AI agents. It offers a chance to hear how practitioners are approaching agent runtimes, exchange ideas with other builders and meet people working across AI products and research.

Forkable sandboxes for AI agents

Following opening remarks from Borna Perak, GTM & Partnerships at Daytona, Muhammad Annas Hashmi, DevRel at Daytona, will present “Forkable Sandboxes for Long-Running Agents.”

The talk addresses a practical limitation of prompt-response AI systems: once an agent begins installing dependencies, editing files, running tests, launching servers and debugging over extended sessions, its useful state exists in the machine as well as in its token context. Treating every run as disposable makes these workflows difficult to inspect, reproduce and recover.

Hashmi will explain how forkable Daytona sandboxes can help builders:

  • Pause an agent run at important moments
  • Branch an environment from the same machine state
  • Sample and compare multiple continuations
  • Inspect and recover long-running workflows
  • Create a foundation for optimising agent behaviour over time

The programme also reserves five short talk slots between 5:50pm and 6:50pm. Their speakers and subjects are still to be announced, giving the agenda room to cover additional developments in AI engineering as the event approaches.

Who should attend?

This meetup is designed for AI enthusiasts, innovators and professionals. It will be particularly relevant to people building AI products, developing agent-based software, researching algorithms or exploring the latest advances in artificial intelligence. No specific experience level is stated; the event welcomes both active practitioners and those who are simply passionate about the field.…
