What to expect

Oxford Data Meetup brings practical talks on modern data stacks and geospatial data to Oxford on 10 September 2026, followed by relaxed networking.

Taking place from 6pm to 8pm at the Business and Intellectual Property Centre Oxfordshire (BIPC), this in-person meetup offers a useful mix of technical insight, real-world experience and conversation with others working across data, AI and automation. It is hosted by Shaked Keidar in partnership with Humand Talent Solutions, a recruitment agency specialising in technical talent for technology start-ups and scale-ups.

Talks and speakers

The evening features two perspectives on delivering value with data:

  • “Outsmarting the Data Stack: Winning Without Knowing It All” , Samantha Roberts Batchelor Manning. A data and technology leader with experience spanning data strategy, engineering and analytics, Samantha will explore how teams can produce meaningful results without mastering every new tool or technology in an increasingly complex data ecosystem.
  • “Here Be Dragons: The Joys and Gotchas of Geospatial Data” , Chris Sharpe. Chris is an architect-turned-technologist with two decades of experience at the intersection of geospatial data, PropTech and urban planning. As founder of CityCAD Technologies and Charlbury Technology, he has worked on products including CityCAD, Placecheck and Streetscape Studio. His session will examine both the opportunities and pitfalls that come with location-based data.

Host Shaked Keidar will also share an overview of the latest news in data. Shaked describes himself as a “computer to human translator”, turning organisational and individual needs into data, AI and automation solutions. His background includes SaaS delivery, data science, Python, SQL, visualisation and modern AI tooling, as well as building the AI-powered tourism app PlacesXP.

Who should attend?

The meetup is relevant to data practitioners, analysts, engineers, technology leaders, founders and anyone interested in applying data more effectively. The talks combine strategic and technical perspectives, making the programme accessible to people who want practical context rather than expertise in every part of the stack.…
