About this event

What to expect

If you're actively experimenting with AI and automation in your work—whether you're streamlining research, building workflows, or somewhere in between—Adventures in Automation brings together professionals at all stages of the journey to share real-world experiences and practical insights. This Norwich meetup is for freelancers, agency teams, startup operators, and anyone pushing AI tools beyond the basics into their daily routine.

The evening opens with a series of short showcases (five to ten minutes each) where attendees from different fields demonstrate what they've built, automated, or figured out. Expect practical examples rather than theoretical frameworks—these are real tools and workflows solving real problems. After the showcases, participants break into smaller groups organised around practice areas such as sales and marketing, product development, and service operations. These intimate discussions create space for open conversation about what's working, what's not, and where the technology is heading next.

This isn't a traditional conference with experts at the front of the room. It's a peer-to-peer meetup designed for people who want to swap notes, ask better questions, and connect with others on similar journeys. You might be using ChatGPT or Claude to accelerate your writing, Make or Zapier to automate repetitive tasks, or Notion and Airtable to manage complex workflows. Whatever your toolkit, if you're actively integrating automation into professional work, this evening offers valuable peer learning.

Hosted by Akcela Ventures at Fuel Studios in Norwich, the event includes drinks and snacks and is supported by the Future Tech Programme, funded by Norfolk County Council. Akcela's sponsors—Ashton's Legal, Lovewell Blake, and Luminous PR—along with Connected Innovation make these community gatherings possible. A note for attendees: to assist with programme reporting, your name and business name will be shared with Norfolk County Council (though no other contact details will be passed along).
