What to expect

UGLY TALK launches its Mexico City chapter on 8 September 2026 with candid founder stories about mistakes, pivots and the decisions behind success.

Held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at BBVA Open Space México in Torre BBVA Bancomer, this three-hour, in-person event replaces polished pitch decks with an honest look at entrepreneurship. Expect a high-signal panel featuring three founders from different industries, followed by a mixer where attendees can build meaningful connections across the local business ecosystem.

The panel

The speakers will share hard-earned lessons from healthcare, technology, international expansion and company building:

  • Carina Reverter , CEO for Latin America and Partner at MeetingDoctors, a Spanish telemedicine company operating in 17 countries. Carina’s background spans corporate development, international expansion and leadership, including previous roles at Tradebe and McKinsey & Company.
  • Bruno Valera Franco , Founder and CEO of MEDIKIT, which develops electronic prescriptions and digital healthcare solutions for hospitals, pharmacies and insurers across Latin America.
  • Francisco González , Founder and CEO of Clau Health, where his team builds infrastructure connecting healthcare data, systems and organisations. Francisco also serves as President of Open Health LATAM and HL7 Mexico, with a focus on AI, interoperability, data standards and digital transformation.

The conversation will explore the mistakes, pivots, uncomfortable choices and practical insights that rarely appear in the public version of a founder’s journey. Rather than a conventional pitch-focused event, Ugly Talk is designed around useful, unfiltered accounts from people actively building businesses.

Who should attend?

This opening chapter is aimed at:

  • Early-stage founders and entrepreneurs across industries
  • Operators working in product, growth, fundraising and team building
  • Investors, ecosystem leaders and other business builders
  • Local founders and entrepreneurs visiting Mexico City…
