What to expect

Explore how AI is reshaping K–12 education in this 90-minute online panel for parents, teachers, school leaders and education innovators.

Taking place Wednesday 30 September 2026, from 4:00–5:30pm UTC, this MENTORSHOP discussion brings together national and international perspectives on the benefits, failures and long-term implications of artificial intelligence in education. The panel will draw on first-hand experience across public, private, charter and religious schools, as well as homeschool communities, tutoring services and independent education.

What the panel will examine

Rather than presenting AI as either a cure-all or a threat, the speakers will explore the tensions shaping its adoption in K–12 settings:

  • Clear benefits of incorporating AI into education, including initiatives and programmes worth knowing about
  • Significant challenges, failures and practical reasons for concern
  • The growing backlash to AI and its divisive effect on educational communities
  • Why schools are struggling to prepare students for an AI-influenced future
  • Children’s widespread use of AI,and their increasing fear or contempt for generative technologies
  • Responsible ways for students, educators and institutions to adapt and thrive
