About this event

What to expect

The first in-person event from IAS (IA Safety) and BlueDot Impact in Madrid brings together researchers, policy makers, and AI enthusiasts to explore critical questions about AI safety and governance in the Spanish-speaking world. Whether you're deeply involved in AI research, working in public policy, or just discovering the field, this community-focused gathering offers valuable insights into responsible AI development.

What to Expect

The evening kicks off with Osmani Redondo introducing IAS and explaining why building a Spanish-language network around AI safety is essential for our region. David Bravo Comas, Director of AI Safety Barcelona and industrial engineer, will discuss safe development practices for advanced AI systems. Guillem Bas, AI Policy Lead at the Observatory of Global Catastrophic Risks, will share perspectives on AI governance, European regulation, and global risk management.

The talks are followed by an open debate and networking session over snacks — a horizontal space designed for exchanging ideas, asking questions, and connecting with others passionate about ensuring AI benefits everyone safely.

Who Should Attend

This event welcomes anyone concerned about AI's future trajectory, from technical practitioners building AI systems to policy professionals shaping regulation, to curious newcomers wanting to understand the landscape. The community-first approach recognizes that responsible technological development requires diverse perspectives and collaboration.
