About this event

What to expect

jPrime 2026 returns to Sofia Tech Park on June 3–4, 2026, under the provocative theme "The AI Agents Are Among Us!" This community-driven Java conference brings together 1200+ developers for two days of cutting-edge JVM content, hands-on workshops, and unfiltered technical exchange. Organized by the Bulgarian Java User Group and backed by leading tech companies, jPrime delivers what developers actually want: zero marketing fluff, pure technical substance, and direct access to world-class speakers.

What Makes jPrime Different

Unlike corporate tech conferences, jPrime maintains a strictly technical focus. Every session comes through a community-voted CFP process — there are no sponsor slots, no HR pitches, no sales presentations. Just practical, hands-on content from developers who build real systems. The conference features two parallel tracks covering Java, JVM languages, mobile development, web technologies, and engineering best practices.

The "no speaker room" policy sets jPrime apart. International speakers mingle freely with attendees throughout the venue, creating genuine opportunities for technical discussions, career advice, and knowledge sharing. This isn't networking theater — it's engineers talking shop over coffee and beer.

Speaker Lineup

The 2026 roster includes JVM luminaries like Venkat Subramaniam (programmer and author), Cay Horstmann (yes, that Cay Horstmann), and Gerrit Grunwald (Java visualization expert). You'll also hear from Milen Dyankov ("The Vector Whisperer"), Victor Rentea (clean code advocate), Roberto Cortez (MicroProfile expert), and Marit van Dijk (Developer Advocate at JetBrains).

The conference showcases both established voices and emerging talent from the Balkans, including Stefan Angelov (pLoVEdiv Java community), Panche Chavkovski (JUGMK leader), and Jordan Jovkov (AI integration specialist). Topics span traditional JVM concerns and cutting-edge AI agent development, reflecting the conference's 2026 theme.

Workshops & Hands-On Learning

Since 2017, jPrime has included practical workshops at no additional cost. Just bring your laptop and dive into hands-on training sessions during the conference. No pre-registration, no extra fees — if there's space, you're in. These sessions complement the main talks with code-level implementation guidance.
