What to expect

See how AI agents can take an Umbraco ticket through to a reviewable pull request at this practical developer meetup in Leeds on 3 September 2026.

Hosted by Phil W. and the Umbraco Leeds Meetup, this session explores what teams need to put in place before an AI agent can perform meaningful work on a real Umbraco project. Speakers Matthew Wise and Phil Whitaker will map the stages of AI adoption, from a helpful development assistant to an automated collection of agents, while keeping human review firmly in the loop.

From ticket to pull request

The central talk compares two ways to achieve the same goal: turning a development ticket into an Umbraco-aware pull request, potentially while the team sleeps.

  • A fully connected GitHub workflow, moving from issues through to Actions
  • An equivalent setup spanning Jira and Azure DevOps, where the ticket tracker, repository and automation trigger must be connected deliberately

Although the surrounding technology differs, both implementations use the same underlying orchestration techniques. The speakers will also examine parallel execution, including how an agent or developer can work across several tickets without repeatedly switching branches. One approach currently uses Git worktrees and may move to cloud workers, while the other already runs on cloud workers.

The session will show how uSync, Umbraco.Deploy and a disposable SQLite database give each ticket a clean working environment regardless of where it runs. Attendees should leave with a practical checklist of the conditions required to hand work to an agent and receive a pull request that is ready for human review.

Who it’s for and what to expect

This event is aimed at Umbraco and .NET developers, engineering teams investigating AI automation, and anyone interested in agents that can handle genuine software-development tasks. It is relevant whether you are taking your first steps with AI-assisted development or already operating agents in production.

The two-hour format combines:

  • Real-world AI orchestration examples
  • Multiple implementation patterns for different technology stacks
  • A live demonstration
  • Practical techniques that can be applied to existing workflows
  • Q&A, discussion and informal networking
