About this event

What to expect

Ready to transform raw behavioral data into $10,000? This 24-hour datathon, hosted by ODSC AI in collaboration with Zerve, challenges intermediate-to-advanced data practitioners to extract structured product insights from live AI-native workspace data. Starting April 29, 2026, this hybrid competition gives you access to authentic signals from a production environment—not sanitized toy datasets.

The Challenge

You'll work with large-scale event data including user interactions, technical metadata, and session activity from a live AI-native workspace. The focus is on bridging the gap between raw activity logs and actionable product insights. Modern applications generate millions of events, but raw logs don't make decisions—people do. Your task is to design meaningful signals through feature engineering and statistical reasoning.

What You'll Work With

  • Real Product Data: Authentic behavioral signals from a live environment
  • Feature Engineering: Design your own indicators from raw event streams
  • One-Click Starter Repo: GitHub template with sample data loaders, notebook scaffolding, and submission helpers—start analyzing in minutes
  • Zerve Cloud Platform: Collaborative notebook environment supporting Python, R, and SQL

Prize Pool & Perks

$10,000 in prizes including cash awards, Zerve platform credits, and speaking slots at ODSC conferences. All participants gain free access to AI Expo and ODSC AI East Conference demo talks. Virtual participants have full access to the cloud platform, digital mentorship, and submission portal.

Prerequisites

This challenge targets intermediate-to-advanced data professionals comfortable with:

  • Python or R for data manipulation
  • Pandas/SQL for data wrangling
  • Feature engineering concepts
  • Basic statistical reasoning
  • Jupyter/notebook environments

You can compete solo or in teams of up to 4 members.

Judging Criteria

Unlike traditional hackathons that focus on building software, this datathon evaluates your ability to extract insights, perform rigorous feature engineering, and communicate a clear analytical framework. The judging emphasizes methodology and rigor over "black box" luck—expect to demonstrate why your approach works, not just that it does.

Community & Support
