What to expect

A free, two-hour Glasgow Tech Week panel exploring which human skills matter most as AI reshapes work, careers and organisations, followed by audience Q&A.

Taking place on Tuesday 8 September 2026, from 1pm to 3pm, at Clockwise Glasgow, this in-person event offers a grounded alternative to hype-driven conversations about artificial intelligence. Instead of focusing narrowly on tools, the panel will tackle the questions many people are asking: Am I keeping up? Where do I fit? Will AI affect my job? And how can I remain confident, capable and competitive?

An honest conversation about work and AI

Host Sooz Young, founder of Technology Coaching, will lead an unscripted fireside discussion with five experts spanning technology, education, creative industries and organisational design:

  • Rachael Arnold, founder of Creative Entrepreneurs Club and Entrepreneur in Residence at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, brings perspectives on creativity, neurodivergence and sustainable creative careers.
  • Kevin Stewart, a design and products leader at Owendale Advisory, helps executive teams redesign work around AI and automation while addressing the human side of transformation.
  • Caroline Laurenson, Managing Director and co-founder of TL Tech, specialises in accessible smart-home technology and conversational AI.
  • Gary Crawford, strategy and innovation consultant at Owendale Advisory, works where emerging technology, business transformation and organisational design meet.
  • Bianca Peel, artist and founder of NomadAlba, designs trauma-informed learning and is co-creating an SCQF-accredited Human Skills and AI unit.

Expect real experiences and practical perspectives from work across corporate and private organisations, the public and third sectors, charities and the arts. There will be no slide-heavy presentations or jargon: the emphasis is on what the speakers are seeing now, how they are adapting and which capabilities are becoming more valuable, not less.

Format and audience
