What to expect

Explore how Moti-Me combines a cross-platform .NET MAUI app with an IoT therapeutic device to make children’s physiotherapy more engaging and measurable.

On 1 September 2026 at 6:00 PM, Clifford Agius will present an online technical talk examining the architecture, implementation and delivery of Moti-Me. Hosted by AioT Hub – Leeds, formerly IoT North, the session moves from a high-level view of the system into the practical engineering decisions behind its mobile application.

Moti-Me pairs an IoT-powered therapeutic device with a mobile app, turning structured physical therapy into child-friendly activities. Alongside helping children develop key motor skills, the system gives clinicians and families meaningful feedback about each activity.

What the talk will cover

Clifford will walk through the complete Moti-Me ecosystem before focusing on the .NET MAUI application, including:

  • The architecture and implementation of a cross-platform mobile app
  • Bluetooth communication between the app and the device’s onboard controller
  • How therapeutic activities are initiated, monitored and tracked
  • Application state management throughout each interaction
  • Capturing, processing and presenting user feedback and activity results
  • Configuration and device-management features within the Settings area
  • Support for everyday operation and troubleshooting
  • The build and deployment pipeline used to create Android and iOS releases
  • Using GitHub Actions to deliver builds to the respective app stores for testing

This is a detailed software development and Internet of Things session for developers interested in .NET MAUI, connected-device applications, Bluetooth integration, mobile state management and automated deployment. It should be particularly relevant to engineers building apps that must coordinate with physical hardware or translate real-world interactions into useful data. No formal experience prerequisites are listed, but the implementation-focused material will be most useful to a technical audience.
