About this event

What to expect

AI agents have moved beyond experimental demos and are now powering real-world applications in biological research, data automation, and data science. But as the agent ecosystem expands, organizations face a growing challenge: each agent comes with its own execution environment, tooling requirements, logging systems, and pricing models. How do you evaluate, integrate, and switch between agents when every implementation is different?

This interactive lunch and learn roundtable in Cambridge introduces the concept of a Control Plane for Agents — a unified layer that standardizes how AI agents are accessed, executed, monitored, and managed. Drawing inspiration from platforms like OpenRouter (which simplified LLM integration), this approach aims to enable organizations to discover, evaluate, and switch between agents through a single API.

Hosted by One Nucleus at The Nucleus in Chesterford Research Park, this session provides a practical overview of the rapidly evolving open-source agent landscape and the technical challenges involved in deploying agents in production environments. Participants will explore how a unified control plane can simplify integration while maintaining the flexibility to choose the right agent for each specific task.

What You'll Learn

  • Agent Ecosystem Overview: Survey the current landscape of open-source AI agents and their diverse capabilities
  • Integration Challenges: Understand the technical hurdles organizations face when working with multiple agent frameworks
  • Control Plane Concept: Explore how a unified layer can standardize agent access and execution
  • Practical Examples: See real-world demonstrations of flexible agent integration through a single interface
  • Open Discussion: Engage with builders and researchers actively developing agent technologies

Who Should Attend

This roundtable is designed for AI practitioners in biology evaluating or using agent-based systems, researchers and data scientists exploring agent workflows, and leaders interested in the future of agent-native software. Whether you're already working with AI agents or curious about the emerging infrastructure layer that will power the next generation of AI applications, this session offers valuable insights into a rapidly evolving space.
