What to expect

ML4EO 2026 is calling for abstracts that showcase cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and Earth observation. Taking place 22–24 June 2026, this conference brings together researchers, data scientists, and environmental practitioners to explore how machine learning is transforming our ability to monitor, analyze, and protect our planet.

What You'll Present

The conference welcomes submissions across a broad spectrum of topics where AI meets environmental science. Core areas include remote sensing technologies, machine learning algorithms applied to satellite and aerial imagery, computer vision for environmental monitoring, and data science approaches to climate analysis. Researchers working on land use classification, natural resource management, disaster response systems, urban development planning, biodiversity conservation, and agricultural applications are encouraged to submit.

Submissions can address practical implementations—real-world case studies demonstrating how ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI tools are being integrated into Earth observation workflows. The conference also explores social and ethical dimensions of AI-driven environmental monitoring, making it relevant for those considering responsible deployment of these technologies.

Submission Details

Abstracts (maximum 400 words) are due 31 March 2026 via the Microsoft CMT platform. Your submission should clearly outline objectives, methods, and findings, with specific emphasis on the machine learning techniques employed. You may include one image or table to support your abstract. Both oral presentations (10-minute talks) and poster presentations (A1 portrait format) are available, with options to express format preference or remain flexible.

Reviews follow a single-blind process, so include all author names and affiliations. Accepted presenters will be notified by 1 May 2026. At least one author must register and attend to present the work. While there are no formal proceedings, abstracts will be shared with attendees, and presentations may be recorded and published via the ML4EO website and YouTube channel (you can opt out if preferred).

Who Should Submit

This conference suits academic researchers, industry practitioners building environmental monitoring systems, data scientists applying Notion or Airtable for Earth observation data management, and dev
