What to expect

Defending the Future: Women in Cyber is a national conference celebrating and showcasing the vital contributions of women in the cybersecurity sector. Taking place on 23rd March 2026 at the International Convention Centre Wales, this full-day event builds on the success of two previous conferences — Securing the Future: Women in Cyber (2024) and Resilient Futures: Women in Cyber (2025) — and promises an inspiring programme of talks, panels, hands-on activities, and networking opportunities for women and allies working across all areas of cyber security.

What to Expect

The conference features presentations from senior women working across different industries, government bodies, and technology leaders. Confirmed speakers include representatives from the NCSC, Admiral, Airbus Defence and Space, BT, Babcock, and the Cabinet Office. Sessions will cover current cyber security threats and challenges, skills development pathways, network building strategies, and include an interactive cyber security activity suitable for all experience levels — whether you're a seasoned professional or exploring a career transition into cyber.

Programme Highlights

The agenda includes keynotes on international cyber perspectives, security by design principles, cryptographic solutions for global operations, and building organisational resilience. Panel discussions will explore the wider dimensions of cyber security beyond technical roles, and how to build supportive communities within the industry. Sessions will address real-world challenges like bias in technology, government cyber action plans, and innovation funding opportunities through Innovate UK.

Who Should Attend

This conference is designed for women working in cyber security or aspiring to enter the field, as well as allies who support diversity and inclusion in the tech sector. It's equally valuable for technical specialists, policy makers, educators, and anyone interested in the human side of cyber defence. The event provides a rare opportunity to connect with peers, meet potential employers and training providers, and hear directly from role models who've built successful careers across government, defence, finance, telecommunications, and aerospace.

Networking and Exhibition

Throughout the day, attendees will have opportunities to meet with organisations from across the UK, including industry leaders, government-funded bodies, and t
