About this event

What to expect

Looking to learn to code or level up your programming skills in a supportive, inclusive environment? Codebar Brighton's hands-on workshop at DabApps offers personalized 1-to-1 pair programming with experienced coaches who'll help you work through tutorials or build your own projects at your own pace.

What to Expect

This workshop is designed for students of all experience levels — whether you're writing your first line of code or tackling a complex project. Coaches work individually with students to provide tailored guidance, making sure everyone progresses at a comfortable pace. You'll get dedicated support on your chosen course material or personal coding project, with coaches matched to your specific needs and learning goals.

For experienced developers, this is an opportunity to give back by coaching students. You'll share your knowledge, help debug tricky problems, and support learners as they build confidence in their coding journey.

Schedule

The evening kicks off at 18:30 with pizza (all vegetarian and vegan options available — just add any dietary requirements to your profile). Coding sessions run from 19:00 to 21:00, followed by an optional trip to the pub for those who want to continue the conversation.

Venue & Accessibility

The workshop takes place at DabApps in Nile House, a workspace called Projects on Nile Street in Brighton. Someone will be at the door to let attendees in. The office is on the first floor, accessible via two lifts from the main lobby (no steps into the building, lift doors approximately 80cm wide). Accessible toilets are available on the office floor. Contact the organisers if you need more specific accessibility information.
