What to expect

How can revenue managers and hospitality leaders stay ahead as AI reshapes decision-making, pricing strategies, and operational complexity? This three-hour session at Breda University of Applied Sciences brings together academic expertise, industry intelligence, and practical leadership insights to help professionals navigate the AI-driven transformation of revenue management.

What You'll Learn

The event features three specialist speakers who will guide you through the technical, strategic, and human dimensions of AI adoption in revenue management. Wouter van Tankeren, lecturer in Hotel Management at BUas and member of the university's AI Taskforce, demystifies AI by explaining what it actually is (and isn't), how AI systems work in practice, and how AI-driven decisions are made in real business contexts. His session focuses on building digital and AI literacy, analytical skills, and sound decision-making frameworks.

Wouter Geerts, Director of Market Research at Mews and former analyst at Skift and Euromonitor, explores the current and near-future applications of AI in revenue management. Drawing on his PhD in hospitality and extensive industry experience, he examines practical implementations including generative AI, agentic AI systems, and emerging technologies that are reshaping pricing strategies and revenue optimization.

Patty de Gruiter, VP Performance at Borealis Hotel Group with over two decades of European hotel industry experience, addresses the critical human dimension: the evolving communication and leadership skills revenue managers need to thrive in an AI-driven environment. As margins tighten and complexity increases, her insights on leading through technological change become essential.
