About this event

What to expect

Deploying sophisticated deep learning models on microcontrollers costing just €5 might sound impossible — but this hands-on workshop will show you exactly how it's done. BLISS e.V. and dida are bringing Elias Trommer from Infineon to Berlin for an intensive two-hour session on Embedded AI, followed by networking and pizza with fellow AI enthusiasts.

What You'll Learn

This workshop tackles the unique challenges of running deep learning models on bare-metal embedded systems. You'll gain practical knowledge of deploying models to tiny, resource-constrained devices that lack the computational comforts of traditional servers but are increasingly capable of handling complex AI workloads. The session covers the complete deployment pipeline from model compression to inference engines.

Key topics include:

  • Critical differences between desktop/server environments and bare-metal embedded systems
  • Quantization techniques for model compression
  • Architecture of embedded applications
  • Embedded ML inference engines and execution strategies
  • Step-by-step model deployment process

Who Should Attend

This workshop welcomes anyone with basic machine learning knowledge. While experience with C programming and embedded systems is helpful, it's not required — the instructors will cover essential concepts during the session. Whether you're a student exploring AI applications or a young professional looking to understand real-world ML deployment, this workshop bridges theory and practice.

About the Partners

BLISS e.V. is Berlin's leading AI community connecting students and young professionals with industry partners. Their workshop series offers insider perspectives on how machine learning transitions from research to production environments.

dida are scientific engineers who reject AI "black boxes" in favour of transparent, mathematically rigorous solutions. They specialize in bridging theoretical research and production deployment, creating fully explainable white-box AI systems.

Practical Information

The workshop runs for approximately two hours, followed by networking with dida's team and other AI practitioners. Bring your laptop for the hands-on components. The venue is at TU Berlin's MAR Gebäude, Room 0.011.

Important: Registration on Luma is mandatory and subject to host approval. Without confirmed Luma registration, you cannot access the venue. [Register for this event](ht
