13th Intelligent Systems Conference 2027 (IntelliSys) – Amsterdam

⌖ Amsterdam · TBA

Hosted by SourceHive

Explore how to build fast, secure AI systems powered by real-time data at this World Summit AI side event in Amsterdam. Taking place on Tuesday 6 October 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 GMT+2, Intelligence in Motion brings SourceHive to Europe for the first time. The session tackles a pressing technical and organisational question: how can teams develop intelligent systems at speed without losing control of the data behind them? Affiliated with World Summit AI Amsterdam 2026, this two-hour event combines candid panel discussion, a live technical demonstration and audience-led conversation. The Amsterdam venue is still to be announced. What to expect The programme begins with a 30-minute, fast-moving panel debate examining secure, real-time data intelligence from three distinct perspectives: - The Visionary will unpack the architecture behind real-time data intelligence and explain why security should be designed into a system from day one rather than added later. - The Practitioner will address operational realities including data leakage, compliance pressure and the cost of getting AI governance wrong. - The Ecosystem Connector will connect current technical work with the direction the wider industry needs to take. Speaker profiles for the full panel are due to be announced. Following the debate, Hood Khizer, Chief Science Officer at AHOY Technology, will lead a live, on-stage demonstration showing how secure data intelligence moves from an abstract concept to a working system in real time. The final part of the session opens the floor to attendees. Rather than limiting participation to a short, formal Q&A, the organisers want the room to challenge assumptions, raise difficult questions and share what is happening inside their own projects and organisations. Who should attend? This event is designed for people already working deep within AI and data architecture as well as those beginning to navigate real-time data systems. It will be particularly relevant to developers, architects, technical leaders, AI practitioners, governance and compliance professionals, founders, creators and technologists interested in building responsible intelligent products.… Register for this event

Meet relevant AI investors through focused one-to-one sessions in Amsterdam on 7 October 2026, alongside talks on funding and support for AI startups. Taking place on Wednesday afternoon at the Hembrug Site in the Amsterdam area, the AI Startup-Investor Matchmaking Event will connect promising AI ventures with investors from the Netherlands and neighbouring countries. Organised by AIC4NL, the event is designed to help founders hold meaningful funding conversations while giving investors direct access to the next generation of AI and deep-tech innovators. The exact start time is still to be announced. Focused investor matchmaking The centrepiece of the afternoon is a structured series of one-to-one meetings. Around 15–20 investors, including European partners, will meet pre-selected startups across five 20-minute rounds. These targeted conversations create space to discuss: - Growth plans and commercial ambitions - Current and future investment requirements - The startup’s underlying AI technology and solution - Potential fit with seed, growth or corporate capital Unlike a broad startup networking event, the format is built around specially arranged meetings between startups, investors and large companies with a shared interest in AI and deep tech. There will also be opportunities to expand your network with contacts from the Netherlands and abroad. Presentations and support programmes Alongside the matchmaking sessions, attendees can hear presentations covering AI business cases and the regional, national and European support available to young AI companies. ⌖ Amsterdam · The Netherlands Film Academy

Hosted by AIxDESIGN

Explore how filmmakers can direct generative AI without eliminating chance at this free artist lecture in Amsterdam on 8 October 2026. At the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam, filmmaker Herinarivo Rakotomanana will share a practical and candid account of authorship in the age of generative video. Rather than treating unpredictability as a technical flaw, his practice makes it part of the directorial process: setting boundaries, responding to unexpected results and discovering what happens when the machine returns a different frame from the one imagined. From visual DNA to virtual scouting Rakotomanana will trace this approach through several of his films and commercial projects: - More Tears Than Harm, a painterly animation built from personal memories, demonstrates how he establishes a consistent “visual DNA”, controls staging and retains organic, hand-painted imperfections. The film received Best Technical Achievement at BIFAN 2025. - Mirage Deux Mille introduces his “Run and Go” method of virtual scouting, in which accidental details can expand a scene and help the story find its direction. - Lazy Bird connects his earlier physical filmmaking, moving a real camera around a dancer, with the boundary conditions he now creates for AI-driven movement. - Mora Mora and Inko provide the basis for a practical, multi-tool commercial workflow. Coming from analog street photography and music-video directing, Rakotomanana has explored AI-generated imagery since the early days of GANs. His work moves between photorealistic film, animation, sensorial cinema and intimate personal storytelling. He is currently developing his debut feature film and has delivered talks and masterclasses for animation festivals and high-end fashion brands. See more at herinarivorakotomanana.com or on YouTube. Format and audience The evening combines an artist lecture, audience Q&A and informal drinks. It will be particularly relevant to directors, filmmakers, animators, visual artists, creative technologists and anyone investigating how AI changes creative control. The focus is not simply on tools, but on artistic process, improvisation, aesthetic consistency and responsible approaches to AI filmmaking. Schedule: View the event and registration details

⌖ Amsterdam · Internet Archive Europe Space

Hosted by Internet Archive Europe

Explore how ethics shapes, and may legitimise, AI and technological development in this live philosophical conversation in Amsterdam on 9 October 2026. Hosted by Internet Archive Europe, this two-hour event brings Morgane Billuart into conversation with philosophers of technology Jordi Viader Guerrero and Darryl Cressman. Together, they will examine why ethics has become such a prominent framework for governing emerging technologies and ask whether it can genuinely influence the direction of innovation. From speculative fiction to AI governance The discussion begins with Billuart’s novel The Heat of Others. Set in an Arctic research facility devoted to harvesting human body heat, the story follows a young philosopher attending a conference about the ethics of mind-enhancement technologies. The novel supplies a provocative starting point, but the conversation will extend beyond the book into the institutions, language and assumptions surrounding contemporary technology. Against the backdrop of rapid developments in AI, ethics boards, responsible innovation programmes, AI ethics guidelines and regulatory frameworks have become embedded in technological development. The speakers will consider questions including: - What does it actually mean to make a technology “ethical”? - Can ethics meaningfully regulate technological development or alter its direction? - What is ethics expected to do when it enters technological systems? - Why has ethics become a means through which technology is both governed and legitimised? - Where are the limits of critique when confronting emerging technologies? Who should attend? This event will be particularly relevant to people working in or studying AI, technology policy, responsible innovation, philosophy, digital culture and governance. It should also appeal to builders, researchers, artists and readers interested in the social and political consequences of technological systems. The format is a focused intellectual conversation rather than a practical workshop, placing critical discussion and philosophical inquiry at its centre. View the event and registration details
