About this event

What to expect

This online AI, machine learning and computer vision meetup brings four expert-led talks on production agents, model evaluation, robotics and video AI.

Hosted by the San Francisco AI Meetup Group, the event takes place on 10 December 2026, from 9:00–11:00 AM PST. The online link is visible to attendees, while Meetup’s event chat offers a space to connect before the talks begin.

Talks and speakers

  • Finding the images that actually matter: Amandeep Jiddewar, a Machine Learning Engineer at Pinterest, will demonstrate how an acceptable headline mAP can hide poor performance across slices such as small objects, occlusion and confused classes. Using a pretrained detector and public COCO-style images, he will show how slice analysis can inform labelling priorities.
  • Production AI agents: Akshay Talathi of Goldman Sachs will cover tool-call validation, tracing, observability, failure analysis, permissions, guardrails and human review. The session focuses on understanding why an agent acted and whether its actions were safe.
  • Simulation pipelines for Physical AI: Arturo Morales Rangel, founder of Binary Core LLC, will present a practical robotics workflow using OpenUSD, BowerBot, NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab. Expect a concrete look at demonstrations, reinforcement learning, sensor observations and the challenges of transferring behaviours from simulation to hardware.
  • Prompting video-language models in production: Yash Gugale of TwelveLabs will share prompt patterns and evaluation methods drawn from enterprise video tagging across media, news, streaming and sports, including schema-bound outputs, cost reduction and model-version migrations.

The programme is aimed at AI, ML, computer vision, data science and robotics practitioners interested in practical production lessons. Register for the online session, then attend via Meetup.
