PostHog Workflows Adds Push Notifications, Broadcasts, and Reputation Tracking

PostHog Workflows can now send to a million people at once, push to iOS and Android, and reach over a hundred new destinations. The update, shared on LinkedIn, turns the workflow builder into a more capable marketing engine, one that still includes a generous free tier.

New channels and destinations

Mobile push is the biggest gap-filler. You can now add a step that points to your APNS or FCM channel and reach users who live in your app. No extra premium, it’s billed like any other destination, so those 10,000 free events work for push too.

Alongside that, 100 previously hidden destinations are now available. That means you can pipe data from PostHog to ActiveCampaign, Zendesk, and dozens of other tools without workarounds, a direct extension of the data sync expansions PostHog shipped earlier.

Broadcasts without triggers

The batch limit jumping from 5,000 to 1,000,000 people is the headline number, but what makes it immediately useful is Broadcasts. You can now filter a user segment (or upload a CSV), set a conversion goal, write an email, and hit send, no event trigger needed. Think product launches, re-engagement campaigns, or batch onboarding emails.

Reputation-based sending

Email deliverability now influences how many messages you can send. A new reputation tab tracks bounces and spam complaints, and your sending allowance grows when those numbers stay low. If you exceed the dynamically calculated limit, PostHog doesn’t drop the emails, it delays the send so your reputation can recover.

That’s a practical safeguard for builders who send larger campaigns. You get direct feedback on list health and an automatic throttle that protects your domain.

Frequently asked questions

What is PostHog Workflows? PostHog Workflows is the platform’s automation tool for messaging users and sending data to other services. You build sequences that react to product events, for example, emailing a user who completes onboarding or pushing a notification through Intercom when a trial ends.

How much do push notifications cost in PostHog? Push notifications are billed as a destination, not a premium add-on. The free tier includes 10,000 push or destination messages per month, alongside 10,000 emails. Beyond that, usage counts toward your plan’s destination allowance.

What happens if I exceed my reputation-based sending limit? Excess emails are not dropped. PostHog queues them and sends them later, giving your domain’s reputation time to settle before the next attempt. You can monitor the score in the new reputation tab.
