Hosted by Norwich AI Digital Skills
A six-hour, hands-on workshop in Norwich for leaders and teams seeking a practical framework for better AI adoption. Taking place on Tuesday 18 August 2026, from 10am to 4pm, Taming AI moves beyond tips and prompting tricks to explore where generative AI creates genuine value, and where it can become a costly drain on time, money and attention. Led by Robert Walden and organised by Norwich AI Digital Skills, the session is designed around attendees’ real-world challenges. What you’ll work through The workshop will help you understand why AI produces impressive results in some situations but inaccurate, unreliable or ineffective outputs in others. Topics include: - A clear framework for deciding what, when and how to deploy AI,and when not to use it - Accuracy versus creativity, including how to avoid the illusion of productivity described as “AI workslop” - Why good prompting is only part of the answer when building dependable workflows - Plain-English explanations of agents, RAG, context windows, hallucinations and multi-step prompting - Troubleshooting unreliable generative AI outputs - Balancing time spent using AI against the time it actually saves - Enterprise and standard models, policy oversight, privacy, data safety and subscription costs - Combining generative AI with deterministic digital tools when consistency is essential The agenda begins with fact-finding, problem identification and potential solutions, followed by an accessible explanation of how AI works and why it sometimes behaves strangely. Later exercises use practical frameworks to examine participants’ own challenges. Content covering agents, troubleshooting and prompting will be adapted according to the group’s needs. Who it’s for This workshop is suitable for anyone currently using or considering generative AI, from sole traders to CEOs, as well as people responsible for leadership, marketing, HR or operational workflows. It should be especially useful if you have hit a ceiling with existing tools, need an adoption strategy, feel overwhelmed by terminology, or have concerns about copyright, liability, data management and rising costs.… Register for this event
