What to expect

The Oxford Artificial Intelligence Summit 2026 returns to Oxford on September 4-5, bringing together enterprise professionals, developers, and non-technical builders to master AI-assisted development skills. Hosted at Rewley House by Ajit Jaokar and the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme, this two-day intensive focuses on building shippable, end-to-end AI systems for enterprise environments using tools like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.

What Makes This Summit Different

Unlike typical AI workshops that focus on simple tasks like document summarization or transcription, this summit emphasizes prototyping complete, deployable enterprise systems using AI assistance. The programme is specifically designed to be accessible to non-developers and low-code developers through spec-driven development — a methodology that treats AI as a cognitive collaborator rather than requiring traditional programming skills. Experienced developers looking to enhance their AI-assisted workflows are equally welcome.

Core Skills You'll Develop

The summit centers on five essential Enterprise AI-Assisted Skills:

  • Instruction & Specification: Writing requirements so clearly that AI systems can execute them without ambiguity
  • Delegation & Workflow Design: Orchestrating AI as a junior development team through structured increments
  • Evaluation & Judgment: Validating AI outputs and steering systems when they drift from intent
  • Risk & Governance Awareness: Embedding AI into systems without breaking enterprise compliance
  • Continuous Improvement: Managing the iterate loop from prototype to production

These aren't traditional coding skills — they're about framing problems clearly, supervising AI responsibly, and embedding intelligence into operational workflows.

The Methodology: Spec-Driven Development

Participants learn a comprehensive workflow: Spec → Build (AI assisted) → Test → Observe → Iterate. The process begins with problem framing and spec literacy — writing executable specifications with precise inputs, outputs, rules, and edge cases using structured templates (PRD-lite, API-lite, workflow spec, data spec). You'll then move through the build loop, working with AI agents to translate specs into tasks, files, and tests while validating continuously and correcting when outputs drift.

The methodology extends to Workflow + UX Spec, defining complete user journeys in
