About this event

What to expect

The Call for Papers is now open for AI in Production 2026, a two-day conference taking place 4-5 June 2026 at The Catalyst in Newcastle upon Tyne. Organised by Jumping Rivers, this event focuses on the practical realities of building, deploying, and maintaining AI and machine learning systems in production environments.

Who Should Attend

This conference brings together engineers, data scientists, researchers, and technical leaders who work with R and Python (note: Python is not in our tool list, so no link) to build real-world AI systems. Whether you're deploying LLM-driven workflows, managing production infrastructure, or developing ML models, you'll find relevant content and valuable networking opportunities with practitioners facing similar challenges.

Event Structure

Day One: Hands-On Workshops The first day features practical, hands-on workshops including sessions on LLM-driven workflows and building AI-powered applications. These workshops provide direct experience with the tools and techniques used in production AI systems.

Day Two: Dual-Track Conference The second day offers two parallel streams:

  • Engineering Stream: Focused on production systems, infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and the operational challenges of running AI at scale
  • Machine Learning Stream: Covering modelling approaches, evaluation frameworks, and applied ML techniques for production environments

Call for Papers (Deadline: 23 January 2026)

The organisers are actively seeking submissions from practitioners using R, Python, and related open-source tooling to build and run AI systems in production. This is your opportunity to share lessons learned, technical approaches, and real-world case studies with the community. The CFP closes on 23 January 2026.

Speaker Lineup

The conference will feature industry practitioners and technical leaders from across the AI and data science community, including contributors and users of open source tools. Additional speakers will be announced following the conclusion of the Call for Papers process.

Post-Event Resources

All attendees will receive access to workshop materials, presentation slides, and selected recordings after the event, ensuring you can review content and share learnings with your team.
