What to expect

CodeChella Madrid is Almost Here offers a four-day, hands-on workshop in Madrid (May 25–28, 2026) focused on causal inference and AI-assisted coding workflows using Claude Code. This isn’t a generic page—it’s a detailed event presentation with a clear venue, schedule, pricing, and registration path. If you’re a researcher, data scientist, or student looking to see how AI agents can accelerate econometrics while keeping scientific rigor, this workshop is designed to deliver.

What you’ll learn and do:

  • Get up to speed with Claude Code in live demonstrations focused on modern causal inference techniques: continuous DiD, synthetic DiD, triple differences, and bounding exercises. You’ll see estimators like event studies implemented in real time and discuss credibility checks.
  • Work through practical replication tasks and real-world datasets, building regression tables and publication-worthy figures using an AI coding agent. The emphasis is on verification, reproducibility, and robust workflows rather than speed alone.
  • Hear from experienced facilitators about structuring analyses to catch mistakes before they reach a paper, and how Claude Code can fit into a thoughtful, credible research pipeline.
  • Engage in hands-on sessions that combine econometrics with AI tooling, aiming to give you a working sense of how to apply Claude Code to your own projects.

Who should attend:

  • Researchers, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty who want to integrate AI-assisted coding into causal inference workflows.
  • Anyone willing to learn regression-based estimators, pre-trend checks, and visualisation techniques in a collaborative, workshop-style setting.
  • Those curious about combining traditional econometrics with AI agents to streamline analysis while preserving rigor.

Format and logistics:

  • Four days, 9:00–17:00 each day, at CUNEF Universidad, Madrid. Morning coffee and pastries included.
  • In-person workshop designed for hands-on practice and live demonstrations.
  • Pricing (as listed in the post): Students $220, Post-docs $300, Faculty $500. If cost is a barrier, attendees are encouraged to reach out for possible accommodations.
  • Registration: Tickets are available via the Eventbrite page linked from the post. Primary event information and registration are hosted at the Mixtape Sessions Madrid page: https://www.mixtapesessions.io/madrid/

Organisers and context:

  • Organised under the CodeChella/Mixtapesessions banner, with content and demonstrations centere
