About this event

What to expect

Build the future of money at a 1.5-day student hackathon in London, exploring AI, digital assets and programmable payments.

Taking place on 25–26 November 2026, the FIS Digital Assets Hackathon brings ambitious students from UK universities together with fintech experts and technology leaders. Delivered by FIS in partnership with UKFin+, it offers a hands-on opportunity to tackle real financial-services challenges, develop a team solution and present it to leaders from FIS and the banking industry.

Choose a future-of-finance challenge

Multidisciplinary teams will work on one of three briefs:

  • Digital Trust & Programmable Controls: Explore how digital finance could prevent fraud, protect consumers and improve transparency without introducing unnecessary friction.
  • Invisible Wallets & Agentic Commerce: Design safer ways for people, businesses and AI agents to exchange value as automated purchasing and digital wallets become part of everyday life.
  • Public Value & Accountability Networks: Develop approaches for tracking public funding, strengthening accountability and helping resources deliver value to communities.

The programme goes beyond technical development, asking participants to consider trust, consumer protection and how financial innovation can benefit society.

Two venues, one intensive build

Day one runs from 12:30–18:30 at FIS in The Walbrook Building. Participants will meet FIS executives and specialists, connect with fellow students and begin developing their ideas with industry input. Snacks are provided.

Day two runs from 08:30–17:30 at Fulham Pier, Craven Cottage. Teams will refine and showcase their solutions in a riverside venue at the home of Fulham Football Club. Full catering is provided on the second day.

Who should apply?

Applications are open to students at UK universities with interests spanning technology, business, finance, design, economics, policy, cybersecurity and data. Curiosity, creativity and collaboration matter: you can apply individually and be matched with an interdisciplinary team, or apply with an existing group. Teams can contain up to six people, while groups of four or fewer may be joined by individual applicants.…
