About this event

What to expect

Explore how shared care records, federated data platforms, AI and analytics are shaping connected healthcare at this Leeds Digital Health meetup.

Taking place on Thursday 24 September 2026 at Holy Trinity Church in Leeds, this evening event examines how connected data can enable safer, faster and more joined-up care across the NHS and wider care ecosystem. Hosted by Leeds Digital Health, it combines expert talks, a panel discussion and informal networking.

What to expect

The programme moves from the history and international development of shared care records to practical work happening in West Yorkshire today. Lee Rickles and John Farrenden will offer a global and historical perspective before focusing on the current position in the UK.

Hayley Lockwood will then discuss work within West Yorkshire ICB to deliver a shared care planning model. Her talk will explore the shift from records that are primarily viewed to a read/write model designed to support coordinated care across organisational boundaries.

Topics covered during the evening include:

  • Shared Care Records across Integrated Care Systems and regions
  • The emerging Single Patient Record vision
  • Interoperability and cross-organisation data-sharing challenges
  • Federated Data Platforms and modern NHS data ecosystems
  • Data governance, privacy and public trust
  • Benefits for clinicians, operational teams and patients
  • Future opportunities for AI and analytics in connected care
