Yaba College of Technology Bincom Hackathon: Physical Kickoff

⌖ Lagos

Entertainment Week Africa’s AI & Tech Track brings founders, developers and creators to Lagos from 17–22 November 2026 to explore the creative economy. Part of the wider Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) programme, this multi-day conference and hackathon focuses on the tools, platforms and builders powering Africa’s creative and entertainment industries. It offers a meeting point for technical talent, creative professionals, platform teams and innovation partners interested in how AI and emerging technology can support the creation, production and commercialisation of creative work. What to expect EWA describes each of its industry tracks as a focused programme combining panels, masterclasses, showcases, markets and labs. Rather than treating technology as a standalone subject, the AI & Tech Track places it within the practical realities of the creative economy, connecting builders and platforms with the people and businesses that may use their products. The track is designed around: - AI tools and technology platforms for creative work - Founders and developers building for entertainment and the wider creative economy - Creators exploring new tools, workflows and opportunities - Innovation partners looking to engage with Africa’s creative industries - Practical spaces where ideas and work can be developed, presented and brought to market The combination of conference programming and hands-on activity makes this relevant to a broad range of experience levels. Product founders, software developers and experienced operators can connect with potential collaborators and industry users, while creators and creative entrepreneurs can discover how technology is being applied across their fields. The event page does not list prerequisites, so attendees should consult the published schedule and lineup for individual session details. Part of a seven-track creative programme The AI & Tech programme sits alongside six other EWA 2026 tracks: Music; Film & TV; Fashion & Beauty; Art & Animation; Live Events & Production; and Creative Enterprise. This cross-industry setting is a distinctive part of the experience, bringing technologists into the same event ecosystem as artists, producers, studios, brands, investors, executives and other creative-economy operators.… Register for this event

Hosted by Claude Community Events

Build a practical solution to a community-defined problem using Claude Code at this free, four-hour team build event in Dublin. The Impact Lab turns issues identified during an earlier Claude Conversations session into concrete build briefs. These centre on questions about AI’s effects on work, individuals, families and communities, as well as who should set the rules. Briefs will be published on the event page before the lab, and each team will choose one challenge to tackle with Claude Code. How the evening works - 17:00: Doors open and teams select a brief - Build in teams of up to five; solo attendees can be matched with others on arrival - Pizza will be served during the build - Around 20:00: Short, live team demonstrations begin - Winners will be announced before the 21:00 finish Judges will consider how directly each build addresses its chosen problem, whether it works during the live demo, and whether someone could realistically use it after the event. Every participant receives $100 in Claude API credits. The winning team receives prizes including one month of Claude Max 20x for each member. Who should attend This event is for people already comfortable building and shipping with Claude Code. It is not an introductory workshop, and there will not be time to learn the tool during the session. Bring a laptop with Claude Code installed and working, plus your charger. You should also create an organisation in the Claude Console beforehand, as the API credits cannot be applied to a personal Claude.ai account. The event takes place on Thursday 29 October 2026, 17:00–21:00 GMT. Attendance is free, but places are limited and host approval is required. The exact Dublin address is revealed to approved registrants. Request approval and register for the Impact Lab
