About this event

What to expect

PyLadies Dublin’s September meetup brings AI-era job-search advice, Python automation and workplace wellbeing to Bentley Systems on 15 September 2026.

Taking place from 18:30–20:30 at Bentley Systems EMEA Headquarters in Dublin, this in-person evening combines three focused talks with practical discussion, coding and professional networking. Bentley Systems will provide food; attendees should add any dietary requirements when joining the waitlist.

Talks and speakers

  • Think Like a Cat: How to Stand Out in the Age of AI Applications, Rose Farrell, a technical recruiter at ninedots, shares lessons from more than a decade in recruitment. Rather than offering generic CV tips, Rose will explain how to identify what employers really want, present convincing evidence, use AI without sounding robotic and approach interviews without overthinking every answer. Expect candid advice, recruiting stories and plenty of cat pictures.
  • lxml for DITA Automation, Riona Nazareth, AI Documentation Engineer at Bentley Systems, explores how Python’s lxml library can support DITA-based documentation. The session covers parsing, querying, manipulating and validating large volumes of XML content, with a focus on improving structured-content workflows and documentation quality.
  • Supporting resilience in the workforce and beyond, Anna Earley from Spunout discusses mental wellbeing and explains why Spunout’s resources are useful not only for young people, but for everyone.

Format and community

The programme begins with welcomes and introductions before the three talks. The final half hour is dedicated to Code & Network: bring a laptop if you would like to show a project, continue a speaker conversation, ask for help or exchange ideas with other attendees. A physical-book raffle supported by Packt will follow the talks, including a copy of Python Illustrated: Not another boring Python book, learn programming the fun way.…
