About this event

What to expect

Senior HR and People leaders will examine what the EU AI Act means for workplace decisions at this in-person Dublin meet-up on 17 September 2026.

The EU AI Act is not solely a technology-team concern. AI-enabled systems can influence how organisations recruit, manage and make decisions about employees, placing HR leaders at the centre of compliance, governance and employee communication. This HR Leadership Collective session offers a focused opportunity to understand the practical implications and identify what should move to the top of the people agenda.

What to expect

Alice Duffy, Partner in Employment Law at Matheson LLP, will discuss what the legislation means for CHROs and HR leaders. The conversation will cover the requirements organisations need to address now, alongside actions they should take over the next 12 months as they prepare for the EU AI Act’s 2026 and 2027 deadlines.

Topics will include:

  • How AI could affect workplace disputes and employee relations
  • Identifying AI-enabled tools that already make or inform decisions about employees
  • Supporting employees to understand and explain the AI tools and systems they use
  • Assessing vendors’ AI capabilities and understanding your organisation’s obligations as a deployer

Rather than treating AI governance as an isolated technical project, the meet-up will frame it as a people, culture and employment issue. Attendees can use the discussion to consider where AI may already be present across their organisation and what greater transparency, oversight or preparation may be required.

Who should attend?

This event is designed for senior HR, People, Talent and Organisational Development leaders, as well as experienced practitioners responsible for shaping people and culture strategy. It will be particularly relevant to leaders who oversee recruitment, employee relations, HR technology, organisational policy or workforce decision-making.

The in-person meet-up takes place on Thursday 17 September 2026, from 3:30pm to 6pm GMT+1, at the Office of Public Works, 1GQ George’s Quay, Dublin, D02 Y098.…
