What to expect

Explore the Agent-to-Agent (A2A) Protocol through live coding and hands-on practice in Dublin on 18 September 2026. This two-hour workshop examines how autonomous AI agents can discover one another, negotiate capabilities and collaborate securely, moving beyond standalone chatbots and traditional API integrations.

Hosted by Giorgio Z. for the Dublin Artificial Intelligence Applications Study Group, the session takes place from 19:00 to 21:00 IST at The Tara Building, Tara Street, Dublin 2.

What you’ll learn

The workshop combines a technical deep dive with an interactive build, giving attendees both a conceptual framework and a practical view of A2A communication. It will cover:

  • Core A2A architecture: how the protocol standardises agent discovery, capability handshakes and secure message payloads.
  • Autonomous collaboration: designing multi-agent workflows in which agents delegate tasks, exchange context and resolve conflicts without relying on constant human direction.
  • Security and trust: authentication models, permission scopes and the guardrails required for safer agent-to-agent interactions.
  • A practical implementation: a live coding demonstration that connects two independent AI agents via A2A to complete a complex, multi-step workflow.

Workshop format

The two-hour programme includes a one-hour deep-dive talk, a 44-minute hands-on lab and time for Q&A. Bring a laptop if you want to take part in the interactive sections rather than simply follow the demonstration.

This is a technical session aimed at AI and machine-learning engineers, software developers and backend architects who want to build or integrate agentic workflows. It will also suit technically minded founders and enthusiasts exploring decentralised AI ecosystems and the future of autonomous machine communication.

Basic familiarity with Python is expected, along with a conceptual understanding of either REST APIs or LLM function-calling. You do not need prior experience with the A2A Protocol, but the stated prerequisites will help you get more from the architecture discussion and lab.…
