About this event

What to expect

Spend a month applying AI to real-world business challenges in Chiang Mai while living and working alongside a global cohort of practitioners. This intensive 4-week program partners directly with the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce and the MarTech Association of Thailand to connect AI developers, engineers, designers, and business professionals with local businesses facing genuine operational challenges.

A Real-World Laboratory for AI Application

Unlike theoretical workshops or silicon valley echo chambers, this experience embeds you in Chiang Mai's actual business ecosystem. You'll diagnose friction points in local enterprises, prototype AI-powered solutions with real users, and iterate based on authentic feedback. The program culminates in a city-wide AI Hackathon co-organised with NDEA (Northern Digital Enterprise Association), where you'll present working prototypes to Chiang Mai's business and tech community.

Four-Week Structure

The program follows a deliberate progression through four themed weeks:

Week 1 — Understand: Meet business owners and operators to surface genuine pain points where AI could make a measurable difference. This is about listening deeply rather than pitching solutions.

Week 2 — Design: Form working groups around specific problems and define viable scope. What data exists? What would the solution replace or enhance? Which businesses are willing to collaborate? Mentors guide teams through feasibility assessment.

Week 3 — Build: Develop functional prototypes and test them with partner businesses. The emphasis is on working software over polished presentations. Real user feedback drives rapid iteration.

Week 4 — Refine & Present: Polish prototypes based on testing, document learnings, and prepare for the Hackathon. Teams with viable proofs-of-concept explore potential pilot programmes or ongoing collaborations with local businesses.

Who Should Apply

This experience welcomes AI practitioners across the spectrum — from developers building with ChatGPT, Claude, or custom models, to business professionals and designers serious about applied AI. You don't need to be training models from scratch; you need genuine curiosity about real-world applications and willingness to engage directly with local business challenges. The cohort size is deliberately small (15-20 participants, invitation-first) to enable meaningful collaborati
