Hosted by the University of Bristol’s Interactive AI and Practice-Oriented AI Centres for Doctoral Training, the Bristol AI Summer School brings together expertise from academia and industry to examine both the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and the latest progress across the field. The 2026 programme has a broad focus on Human-Centred AI, with talks, student research posters and practical workshops spread across three days.

The programme is still subject to change, but confirmed sessions include:

  • Citizen Centric AI, presented by Professor Sebastian Stein of the University of Southampton
  • Sustainability around human–AI collaboration, with Dr Ruzanna Chitchyan from the University of Bristol
  • Multi-modal explainability, led by Dr Telmo de Menezes e Silva Filho of the University of Bristol
